Job Summary and Qualifications:
As the Nurse Director for the Critical Care Unit, you will be responsible for overall operation of the department to include all services. Your responsibilities may include: liaison with medical staff, development and revision of policies/procedures, and ensuring adherence to CCU/PCU/Telemetry/AIC/DHU nursing standards of care. You will be aware of and respond to ethical and legal issues involving critical care services. You will direct, coordinate and supervise quality nursing care to include coordination of patient care services.
What you will do in this role:
- Assures staffing is within hospital guidelines, while providing adequate coverage with appropriate personnel.
- Establishes standards, policies and procedures, and goals for nursing care in the Critical Care areas (CCU, PCU, Telemetry, AIC, DHU).
- Develops and maintains records which ensure accuracy and reflect care given during critical care hospital stay.
- Demonstrates effectiveness in planning for future needs by budget preparation on an annual basis. Monitors budget to ensure compliance with or justification for variances.
- Consults with the medical/nursing staff in planning performance improvement activities which are pertinent to the delivery of optimal patient care.
- Cooperates with the staff, physicians and sales persons in the evaluation of new products, equipment and technology etc.
- Develops protocols for care with input from Charge nurses and staff.
- Has staff meetings at least every month that address goal setting and participative decision making.
- Coordinates in-service programs on new equipment, supplies, procedures, technology, etc.
- Participates in the selection of new staff members.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate's degree in nursingor higher is required.
- Bachelor’s Degree Required; Master’s Degree preferred.
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) & Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Health Care Provider is required.
- 3+ years nursing experience & leadership experience REQUIRED
- Candidate must have experience in leading and managing an ICU Department in an acute care setting. Strong and proven leadership skills are essential.
SCHEDULE:
Full-Time – Days - No Weekends
COMPENSATION:
$120,000
