ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following:
- Directs the daily clinical and administrative activities of the Hospice Program.
- Provides leadership, direction, and supervision for the Hospice staff.
- Ensures compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation and Georgia State Regulations.
- Acts as a liaison between the Leadership Team, Medical Staff, and Hospice Staff.
- Assists in the negotiation and coordination of contractual agreements.
- Provides information to and serves as liaison between physicians, community agencies, social service departments, nursing homes, acute care facilities, and home care agencies.
- Assures financial success and viability by closely monitoring expenses and revenues.
- Oversees the recruitment, selection, promotion, and termination of Hospice personnel ensuring that sufficient qualified staff is hired to meet the needs of patients admitted for hospice care. Ensures that complete and accurate personnel records are maintained.
- Maintains and promotes an open and supportive environment.
- Ensures/implements/promotes/supports quality assessment performance improvement activities, evaluations, and improved outcomes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- An Associates degree in Nursing with active RN license and at least five years experience in a health care setting or health related environment required.
- At least one year of supervisory or administrative experience in hospice and/or related community health program is required.
- Ability to meet Hospice conditions of employment regarding health clearance, and provisions of professional references.
- This position requires extensive knowledge of hospice. Strong leadership qualities and experience in hospice program development and fiscal management required.
- Ability to effectively communicate and present information in a clear and concise manner orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
