Description
Stantec is looking for a Jr. Electrical Estimator to join their team. The Junior Electrical Cost Estimator will assist Senior Estimators in developing, managing, and coordinating large electrical cost estimates. This role involves collaborating with a team of cost estimators, schedulers, and construction engineers. The successful candidate will work on projects ranging from $1 million to $2 billion, coordinating and developing electrical cost estimates and supporting project milestones.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing electrical cost estimates.
- Perform and validate electrical take-offs from drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate input parameters for cost estimates.
- Compile information from various estimating disciplines into one cost estimate.
- Establish site-specific estimating criteria.
- Provide innovative solutions for construction and estimating issues.
- Interface with management and client counterparts for estimating tasks.
- Review design documents to identify risks and opportunities for competitive pricing.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of electrical construction methods, materials, and processes.
- Technical knowledge of electrical cost/estimating, engineering design, and construction practices.
- Experience with estimating disciplines like High Voltage, Solar, instrumentation, etc.
- Understanding of contract methods as they apply to estimating.
- Experience with estimating software like Sage Timberline, On-Screen Take-Off, etc.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
- Ability to work with other discipline estimators to develop comprehensive project estimates.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum Two (2) years of combined estimating and/or construction experience.
- Electrical Apprentice Program accepted but not required.
