Cypress Bank & Trust was originally founded as a Florida Chartered boutique corporate fiduciary in Palm Beach, FL in 1996 and transitioned to a bank and trust company in August 2021. We currently have four full-service offices throughout the state of Florida with additional trust offices in Winter Haven and Naples. We are looking for a Trust Officer responsible for collaborating with Trust, Investment and support personnel in a team approach to client service; overseeing the administration of all types of trust accounts following the terms of the governing documents, applicable law and within the policies and procedures of Cypress Trust Company; participating in providing superior client service through periodic client meetings, communications, responsiveness and accuracy of information being supplied to the client.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assumes lead, joint, or secondary role as needed in relationship team to fulfill the corporate philosophy of providing high-touch client service.
- Initiates or assists new business opportunities including working with outside referral sources such as CPA’s, Attorneys and outside Investment Managers to enhance future business opportunities and ensure superior client service.
- Establishes and maintains client relationships through interaction with interested parties such as grantors, beneficiaries and co-trustees to carry out the terms of the documents and meeting the needs of the client, beneficiary and remaindermen.
- Reviews, interprets and administers the terms of governing documents and the needs of the client within the company policies and procedures, Florida Statute, law and regulation.
- Coordinates with the Portfolio Manager or Sub-Advisor and monitors investment activity. Performs account reconcilements as necessary.
- Executes client requests in accordance with the terms of the trust document and company policy by performing routine and complex tasks.
- Initiates and monitors transactions using knowledge of the trust accounting and custodian operating systems and operational workflows.
- Maintains account files in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Completes annual Reg 9 reviews for accounts assigned to you.
Participates in committee meetings as assigned.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as, all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
Complies with the Bank BSA Policy and internal procedures including any related training.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university.
- Certificates, licenses, and registrations required: CTFA, CFP and CPA professional designations helpful.
- Computer skills required: Trust and Custodian Accounting Software; and Microsoft Office.
- JD or law degree beneficial.
- Florida Trust School encourages; may complete during employment.
- 5 years business experience; 2 years trust or banking experience a plus.
- Must have a detailed knowledge of Florida Trust Statues, State and Federal Laws, and regulatory requirements.
