Western Midstream is a master limited partnership formed to own, develop, acquire, and operate midstream assets. We are engaged in the business of gathering, compressing, treating, processing, and transporting natural gas; gathering, stabilizing, and transporting condensate, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and crude oil; and gathering, transporting, and disposing of produced water for our customers.
We operate or own equity interests in assets in the Rocky Mountains, North-central Pennsylvania, and Texas, including approximately 16,000 miles of petroleum and natural gas pipelines and over 100 gathering, treating, and processing facilities.
Job Summary
This position is in Western Midstream’s Engineering and Operations team located in The Woodlands, TX. The TOC Control Room is responsible for verifying the safe and effective operation of all Western Midstream assets. Responsibilities and position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following minimum qualifications:
- Communicate effectively in English. Fluency in Spanish is desirable.
- Must be computer literate and have working knowledge of MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with databases and data analysis tools is a plus.
- Understanding of midstream operations, including SWD operations.
- Understanding of facility automation and operation of equipment (working knowledge of Ignition and CygNet SCADA platform is a plus).
- Good time management, communication, and people skills.
- Ability to multitask and communicate effectively across cross functional groups.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to and enforce all applicable company, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.
- Operate from within the TOC monitoring field volumes, rates, tank levels, and alarms; directly providing corrective action or offering guidance to field personnel.
- Control and optimize compressors/pumps and pipeline equipment in coordination with field personnel to facilitate gas/oil/water deliveries.
- Work closely with the various departments within WES to execute on rapid changes in operating conditions and market conditions.
- Communicate and work with customer base, marketing, and field operations to set flow rates, schedule shutdowns and/or any other issues that may arise.
- Ensure the capture of daily activity reports, documenting conditions and events throughout each work shift.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Certifications/Licenses
Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle.
Travel Requirements
The percentage of travel required for this position is 0 - 10%.
This position presently utilizes a 7/7 schedule that will require working overtime, weekends, and holidays. Schedule may be adjusted to fit business needs including other schedule patterns and rotations with night coverage.
