HOW THIS ROLE IMPACTS COASTAL
The Personal Banker is an essential part of the retail team. In this role, you’ll have an opportunity to get to know Coastal’s customers and attract new customers while helping them reach their financial goals. Whether providing support during a busy day at the branch or offering suggestions for products that fit their needs, you'll have the chance to make a real difference in people's lives. WHAT YOU’LL DO AT COASTAL
- Provide world-class customer service.
- Identify customer needs and provide them with appropriate services and products.
- Engage with prospective clients.
- Work closely with Branch Manager and teams across the organization to help customers meet their financial goals.
- Participate in community and industry events to represent Coastal.
- This role is a float role between all of our branch locations.
HOW YOU’LL DO IT
- Provide customer service per Coastal's Core Values.
- Interview and assess customer and non-customer needs and suggest appropriate products or services.
- Communicate with customers in the branch, over the phone, or during personal visits to local businesses.
- Conduct customer phone follow-ups and actively raise customer awareness of bank products and services.
- Maintain an organized system for tracking and following up on customer needs and tracking monthly production to the branch goals.
- Provide customer referrals to Treasury Management, Commercial, and Consumer Lending, Cash Management, and Real Estate Lending.
- Provide timely resolution and follow through on customer issues and concerns.
- Complete required account documentation according to bank guidelines.
- Maintain current knowledge of banking rules and regulations and complete monthly online training.
- Actively work a book of customers to build relationships, grow the book's value, and keep a firm grasp on customer retention.
- Represent Coastal positively and professionally.
- Follow and comply with all regulatory and compliance regulations.
- Other duties may be assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Outgoing, professional attitude with customers, prospects, and co-workers.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- PC experience navigating in a Windows environment and using various applications.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Previous experience selling financial products.
- Experience growing and developing an existing customer base.
- Production generation experience preferred.
- Basic internet skills.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred.
- Two to four years related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to perform repetitive finger, hand and arm movement.
- Ability to use electronic office equipment such as computer keyboard and mouse.
- Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Ability to view and read computer screen for extended periods of time.
