Description:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing complex accounting needs for the company. Their duties include assuming a leadership role to guide accounting personnel in daily tasks, tracking financial procedures, records, and statements for compliance with laws and regulations. This positions reports daily to our Douglasville, GA office. This is not a remote position.

Key Responsibilities
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring the accuracy of all financial transactions and accounts.
- Month-End Close: Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Provide analysis and insights to senior management.
- Account Reconciliation: Perform detailed account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, intercompany accounts, and fixed assets.
- Audit Support: Support internal and external audit processes by preparing audit schedules, gathering necessary documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements. Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and practices.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement within accounting processes and implement more efficient procedures to increase accuracy and timeliness.
- Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, assisting with training and professional development.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of accounting experience, with a strong background in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and auditing.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and thoroughness in financial reporting and reconciliation.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and present financial information to management.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
