Responsibilities
The Private Equity Middle Office team focuses on operational and funding activities related to all private equity investment strategies, including deal closing coordination, asset setup, asset servicing and cash management.
The role of the Associate on the Middle Office team will work directly with investment professionals, Investment Accounting, Treasury Operations, Legal, and external parties to ensure private equity deals are properly handled from funding to exit. The associate will work directly with other members of the Middle Office team to handle all daily operational functions.
Responsibilities for this role include:
- Promote best practice across middle office support processes, learning intricacies of private equity investment strategies (primary, secondary, co-investments, and growth equity)
- Asset level reference data setup and maintenance
- Expand the quality and quantity of asset level data, while making it more efficient to collect and access
- Manage daily reporting and communications with fund administrators
- Review, reconcile, and monitor asset setup, valuations, and transaction activity booked by our administrators
- Assist internal valuation and data capture processes for our investments
- Actively participate in the deal closing process with a focus on setup and execution of closing wire transfers
- Compile regular and ad-hoc reporting for investment teams, clients, and management
- Create efficiencies between front and back office processes, eliminating redundancies, and streamlining processes
- Support and manage strategic initiatives related to technology and process enhancement, providing specs for developers, completing UAT testing, and promoting upgrades to our production environment
- Become an internal expert on end-to-end operational process and a valuable resource to the firm
Candidate Requirements
We seek an individual who is self-disciplined, demonstrates creative thinking and has the following characteristics:
- Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline
- 2-4 years of experience in Financial Services
- Experience with private equity asset classes
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite, VBA expertise is a plus
- Detail oriented self-starter
- Ability to work alone and in a team environment
- Strong work ethic, honesty and integrity, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
