POSITION SUMMARY: The Allegro Lead Business Analyst (“Analyst”) under the direction of Information Technology (IT) Management has the overall responsibility to serve as a strategic partner to business teams, collaborate on operational activities, strategic planning and share ownership in the creation and realization of business value. The Analyst is skilled in the management and support of commodity trading risk management (CTRM), associated commercial systems and processes with a focus on digital enablement and process improvement to deliver maximum efficiency and business value.
JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to lead new technology evaluations, vendor capability assessments and conduct pilots and proof of concepts with a view to horizontal applicability across the organization.
- Ability to evaluate and understand business processes and strategies and how those relate to new or existing technologies.
- Work directly with users to identify and resolve issues adversely impacting business processes.
- Participate in field research in pursuit of new solutions and to evaluate the applicability and usefulness of current solutions.
- Partner with business teams on efficiency, effectiveness, and customer experience improvement opportunities.
- Responsible for analysis of business requirements, testing, training, and implementation of solutions leveraging commercial and supporting systems.
- Develop customer relationships by making efforts to listen and understand the customer; anticipating and providing solutions to customer needs; giving high priority to customer satisfaction.
- Educate and counsel business on how technology could meet their needs in ways that will drive performance and value.
- Collaborate with business partners to create multi-year roadmap(s) for investments.
- Coordinate with IT PMO and business units on ideation, demand, business case development, project oversight and measurement of outcomes and value.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree (MIS, B.A., or B.S.) from an accredited university or 4 plus years in a Business Analyst or similar role and/or related industry work experience.
- 5 plus years of knowledge or experience with several of the following applications or business areas: Allegro, Latitude, Energy Trading and Risk Management, Commodity Trading and Risk Management, Right Angle, NGL Marketing, Petroleum Logistics, Credit, Treasury, Contracts, Plant Accounting, Gas Marketing, Pricing, Energy Exchanges.
- Must possess strong business acumen.
- Results-oriented with excellent communication, writing, interpersonal, verbal, and organizational skills.
- Strong reading and listening comprehension skills.
- Self-motivated with ability to work on assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Able to find the "story" buried in processes and communicate it to a wider audience effectively.
- Must be able to independently resolve issues and efficiently self-direct work activities based on the ability to capture, organize, and analyze information.
- Experience delivering solutions that align with business strategies.
- Experience troubleshooting complicated issues across multiple systems or processes and driving to solutions.
- Demonstrated team building skills.
- Ability to deal with internal employees and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service-oriented attitude.
- Willingness to travel to company locations (up to 10%).
- Regular and reliable attendance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in Oil & Gas Midstream Services.
- Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA).
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP).
- Familiarity with ITIL concepts and the ability to follow problem, change, and incident management processes and procedures.
- Relationship building capabilities with business partners at all organizational levels.
- Remain current with industry trends in business and technology to forecast future IT and business initiatives.
- Utilize the appropriate technologies and ensure that customers have the solutions they need, when they need them, and in the media best suited to their requirements.
- Create consensus with business areas as to the timing of solution introductions and retirement.
- Ability to articulate ideas to all levels of management and technical staff. Must be comfortable communicating with different levels of management of the company.
