SR. STAFF ACCOUNTANT
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
This Is What You’ll Do:
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with corporate policies, generally accepted accounting principles, and international reporting standards.
- Assist the Financial Analysis Manager in the budget planning and preparation process, including ad hoc projections and forecasts.
- Analyze and interpret financial information and provide guidance to Finance management on financial and controlling issues.
- Manage special projects as assigned.
- Act as a resource to staff accountants in completing important tasks related to financial and controlling reports.
- Respond to problems and find solutions for both general accounting and financial reporting issues.
- Coordinate periodic physical inventories and summarization with donor center operations, including month end / quarter end / year end inventories of plasma, soft goods, fixed assets and other items as required.
- Regularly review accounting systems and procedures, recommending modifications as appropriate.
- Work closely with all departments in the review and development of meaningful controlling reports.
- Be an active participant in staff accountant selection process and be an orientation and training resource.
- Become fluent in reporting to Octapharma AG through SAP/BPC.
- Review all cross charges with Octapharma AG.
- Maintain standard costing, including inventory valuation.
- Review and maintain proper treasury management internal controls.
- Maintain fixed assets and Capital Expenditure process.

This Is What It Takes:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
- Certified Public Accountant certificate, preferred.
- Strong analytical and accounting skills.
- Minimum of 4 to 5 years’ progressive experience with accounting transactions, general ledger and financial statement preparation, budgeting and forecasting, and cost accounting.
- Ability to lead, supervise and mentor staff in either the direction or absence of the General Accounting Manager or Financial Analysis Manager.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities concurrently.
- Advanced Excel skills preferred; Dynamics GP experience a plus.
- Ability to travel overnight up to 3 days per month.
