Description
We're looking for a Senior Accountant to join an exciting, busy, growing and innovative tax compliance team. The tax compliance team at MourantGS is still relatively new and provides an opportunity for an accountant to join a niche tax compliance team which is growing rapidly, providing long-term opportunities for career growth. The focus of the work that is undertaken is UK real estate for structures based in the UK, Guernsey, and Jersey, complementing the administrative work that MourantGS provides on its global platform. The real estate clients own some of the most prestigious properties requiring VAT, CT, CIS tax compliance services. The structures are a mixture of companies, property unit trusts, and limited partnerships, adding interest and variety to the role.

About the role
In this role you will:
- Assist with real estate tax compliance services
- Report to tax compliance manager/Senior manager
- Collaborate with colleagues across all Mourant locations, providing advice and tax support to colleagues as and when required
- Ensure work is completed timely, accurately, and efficiently
- Prepare computations and returns related to VAT, Corporation Tax, CIS, and other tax compliance obligations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure client expectations and deadlines are properly managed
- Ensure that submissions are made on a timely basis (using specialist tax software)
- Build and develop relationships with colleagues, clients, and third-party service providers
- Show an awareness of the integration of Governance Services across jurisdictions and with the law firm, operating in a unified, consistent, and coordinated manner
- Be familiar with and act at all times in accordance with the firm's policies and procedures
- Maintain CPD levels required for your role and any professional bodies of which you are a member
About you - essential requirements
- Ideally qualified ACCA/ACA or qualified by relevant experience
- Industry/commercial/fund/Corporate experience
- Excellent working knowledge of Excel
- Ability to investigate and problem solve
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- A positive and flexible approach
- An aptitude for data analysis/problem solving
- Able to manage and prioritise tasks and time in order to meet deadlines
- Used to a high-pressure and busy environment of a growing business line
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional, pro-active, and service-orientated approach
