This is an opportunity for an Agile Business Analyst II who is highly motivated, innovative, and self-directed. This position provides challenging opportunities to apply and expand one’s research, information technology, technical writing/communication, process development, and data management skills. Our BAs possess and grow client-related domain knowledge in areas such as DoD Acquisition, Contracting, and Operations, as well as commercial technology development and delivery. This opportunity will be client-facing and collaborative with significant growth potential. You will present to the highest levels of company and client leadership, and your opinions will be heard and considered for action. You will work with an experienced team that will mentor, coach, and share best practices.
You will use various techniques to analyze the business domain and requirements. You will leverage your business domain knowledge to identify relevant concepts and relationships, then use your analytical skills to understand how these concepts and relationships can be used to solve business problems.
Our BAs understand the Wingbrace Agile delivery methodology and help clients benefit from Agile principles. They work with stakeholders to help them understand the outcomes of user stories and assist the development team in understanding the business requirements and how they can be met using Agile methods.
Day-to-Day Functional Responsibilities
Communicating the contextual business needs – BAs hold discussions with stakeholders to understand their requirements and their vision of the new capability desired. BAs translate this vision into business needs and communicate them to the development team members (software, modeling, analytics, etc.) for understanding the expectations of the project.
Analyzing the Business Domain – BAs analyze the whole system in detail. They work closely with the development team to understand the initial requirements of the project, the scope of the project, and identify automation areas. While the capability is in development, BAs capture performance and technology gaps to relay to the team. They may support developers with capturing defect context and defect resolution and may also support system verification and concept of operations development.
Stocking and Grooming the Product Backlog – BAs establish user stories that represent the overall scope of the project. They help establish user stories from the requirement models created during business analysis. BAs also help maintain the product backlog, considering purpose, end-user scenarios, acceptance criteria, test cases, and process improvements. They organize and prioritize user stories and split epics into user stories.
Creating technology development roadmaps – As part of prioritization, BAs assist with the identification of needs and opportunities for independent assessment and improvement of the enterprise and/or system. They gather key inputs for the development of documentation (presentations, design documents, etc.), models, software, algorithms, and simulation development roadmaps.
Finally, Senior BAs assist with mentoring junior analysts.
Skills / Education/Certification
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in business, a quantitative field, or equivalent and ten (10) years or more of related experience; Master’s and eight (8) years or more experience; PhD or Juris Doctor (JD) and two (2) years or more of related experience. Education waivers may be considered based on years of experience.
TS/SCI eligible US DoD clearance.
Demonstrated proficiency and strength in verbal, written, presentation, and communications skills for developing and delivering technical presentations.
Referenceable project-based experience in a team environment.
Competent in subject matter and concepts and may lead individuals to assist in the work.
