Transactional Finance Manager - Devon/Somerset (Remote) - Circa: £40,000
Every now and again we take on a client assignment and think to ourselves, “We are 100% going to fill this job because everything about it is right.” This is one of those occasions. Why? Because the recruiting business is as focused on suitable culture fit and energy as they are on technical experience. Because the business is growing quickly, has ambitious plans, and is suitably backed financially. Because the role is entirely remote and always will be (the only caveat being that the successful candidate must be based in either Devon or Somerset). But most importantly, because we know that prospective candidates will undoubtedly feel an instant passion and admiration for the nature of this organisation’s offering.
Trial Balance Consulting have been exclusively engaged by a repeat client, a respected community service provider who seeks to recruit a highly experienced, commercially astute, yet entirely down-to-earth Transactional Finance Manager to join them in a position of responsibility and at a pivotal moment in the company’s development. The successful candidate will work closely with a very experienced and friendly Financial Controller to develop the transactional accounting function of a very rapidly expanding business (set to more than triple in size over the next 18 months). This is a broad and interesting role that is highly likely to develop and grow with the business, with a particular focus on recruitment and expansion of the finance function.
Outline of initial responsibilities include:
- Take a lead role in the management of accounts payable and receivable transactions (likely to grow considerably over a short period of time).
- Development of transactional accounting systems and procedures.
- Work with FC to roll out recruitment campaigns for junior transactional team members.
- PO system management.
- Develop key relationships with major suppliers.
- AP reporting.
- Managing supplier payment runs.
- Financial analysis.
- Work closely with FC to ensure financial strategy is delivered.
- Support FC and senior finance team with ongoing projects.
For this role, we are seeking to attract candidates with a very strong understanding of end-to-end transactional accounting gained within a fast-developing business. Candidates may be either part/fully professionally qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or consider themselves to be qualified through vocational experience (QBE). Proven experience of developing and implementing new accounting processes and systems is essential, and the successful candidate should possess strong general IT aptitude (and be highly competent in the use of MS Excel). As the role is highly likely to require the successful candidate to recruit and develop a small transactional finance team, supervisory experience would be desirable, or an aptitude to manage a small team. The role is almost 100% remote but may require occasional travel to sites throughout the southwest, with Yeovil being the company’s HQ.
