We have a Senior Accountant position opening at one of our Corporate offices in Fontana:
SALARY RANGE: $85,000 - $105,000/year
The Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting and preparing financial reports, maintaining the general ledger, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and practices. This includes assisting in month-end close for multiple entities and divisions while working in a fast-paced and high volume Corporate Accounting department. It requires collaborating with different departments to gather financial data, assist in audits, and ensure that the financial reporting of the company is accurate and timely.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in monthly analysis and reporting of tonnage activity for multiple operating divisions
- Assist in monthly A/R and cash reconciling activity for multiple operating divisions
- Facilitate data entry of journal entries
- Prepare monthly financial statement with supplemental trend schedules and monthly City billings
- Ability to analyze monthly variances and provide supporting schedules upon request
- Prepare quarterly PPE reconciliation and depreciation adjustments as well as monthly depreciation estimate journal entries
- Assist with annual rate updates to City billing and Franchise worksheets as well as preparation of year-end audit schedules
- Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts with large volume of transactions
- Prepare supporting schedules and journal entries
- Assist in preparation of year-end audit schedules
- Assist in developing staff accountants with cross training as directed by manager
- Collaborates with A/P, Operations Accounting and Finance department team members on-site
- Other tasks and special projects as directed by manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field, required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in financial reporting and general ledger responsibilities, required.
- Experience in the recycling and waste industry, a plus.
- Must be able to work in the corporate office Monday through Friday.

- Strong PC skills with advanced MS Excel including VLOOKUP and pivot tables

PHYSICAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position requires standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods - up to 8 hours or more per day, manual dexterity and vision sufficient to operate a personal computer for long periods without experiencing abnormal hand, wrist, or eyestrain. This position requires hearing sufficient to understand conversations, both in person, via video conferencing and on the telephone.
The work area is primarily in an office setting and may have fluorescent lighting and air conditioning. Ability to travel to other facilities on an as-needed basis for operational support, site visits, or collaboration with teams.
