The Operational Risk Manager, C13 Vice President role is to serve as an Independent Operational Resilience and Third-Party Risk Manager to support oversight and challenge of Citi’s Operational Resilience and Third-Party program across Citi’s International locations, with a focus on Latin America and Mexico (“LatAm”).
The mandate of the Independent Operational Risk Management function is to drive comprehensive and consistent practices designed to identify, measure, monitor, report and manage risks while promoting the implementation of actions to address root causes which may lead to unintended losses. This position will be part of a high-caliber team challenging Citi’s effort to mitigate Operational Resilience and Third-Party Operational Risk in Citi’s Banking and International organization.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and conduct challenge effectiveness reviews of Citi’s Operational Resilience and Third-Party Risk Management Program within the business at the regional level.
- Apply operational risk management guidelines and procedures for identifying First Line of Defense (FLOD) risks in LatAm.
- Pursue continuous improvement and challenge adoption of Lessons Learned during resilience and third-party related tests, exercises, and simulations.
- Support Enterprise Resilience and Third-Party Risk Oversight tools development. Ensure the Risk Governance framework operates efficiently, and operational losses are operating within the defined Risk Appetite parameters.
- Provide challenges on Key Indicators and Material Operational Risks.
- Work with First Line of Defense in reviewing documentation and reporting.
- Analyze, capture, and report risks. Collaborate with FLOD technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and management regarding all aspects of Business and Technology recovery planning, contracts, and testing.
- Guide and assist in the implementation of sound and effective resiliency processes and monitoring of non-core consumer products.
- Evaluate, advise, and ensure effectiveness of Business and Technology capabilities and controls across Citi.
- Facilitate and disseminate best practices across all Lines of Business in the assigned international clusters.
- Assist resiliency and third-party managers and their teams to manage staff including training and career development plans and to ensure high morale among prevention, detection, and recovery staff.
- Champion enterprise resiliency and third-party awareness and best practice sharing with various stakeholders and aid in the development of continuity/resiliency risk management training modules.
- Raise the level of resiliency awareness among country officers and other related staff within the assigned international clusters.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Business Continuity, Third Party, Technology Disaster Recovery, Vendor Continuity, Operational Resilience or Risk Management.
- Ability to understand inherent and residual risks, and their impact to Risk Appetite.
- Skillful understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery management lifecycle.
- Thought leadership and clarity in presenting ideas to senior management.
- Proven technical knowledge of resilience and recovery principles and processes, to include up to date knowledge of current technology solutions, including Cloud and hybrid third party solutions.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements underpinning standards, including NIST, ISO, FFIEC, etc.
- Demonstrated analytical skills with follow-up and problem-solving capability.
Education:
- Spanish language speaker is a plus.
- Ability to use Excel, reporting tools and create management reporting.
- University degree.
