Alexander & Company CPA’s PSC are one of the oldest public accounting firms in Kentucky and are celebrating its 103rd year anniversary. We are growing and are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Tax Accountant position in our Owensboro, Kentucky office.

Responsibilities:

Prepare complex tax returns and conduct tax research.
Review tax work of less experienced staff.
Assist in tax planning for clients.
Conduct research on technical accounting and tax issues.
Review tax information supplied by clients and communicate with them for clarification.
Recognize, anticipate, and resolve tax issues, making recommendations as necessary.
Communicate with clients to identify and address their tax and consulting needs.

Education, Experience, and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required with 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar public accounting firm position.
CPA certification or eligible and actively pursuing certification.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
Attention to detail and ability to self-motivate.
Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
Experience with CCH Axcess Tax and QuickBooks is a plus.

Pay and Benefits:

Competitive base compensation of $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year, commensurate with experience.
Additional compensation includes Christmas bonus pay and new business incentives.
Attractive benefits package including 401(k) with matching, health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for advancement.

Schedule:

Full-time, Monday to Friday with extended hours and weekends as needed.
