Our client, a rapidly growing logistics company, is looking to hire a Staff Accountant to join their Finance and Accounting team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, a great work ethic, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. This position is ideally suited for recent graduates bringing 1+ years’ experience (including internship experience).
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and analyzing financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for discrepancies
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions
- Assist with external audits and provide necessary documentation and support
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and standards, and ensure compliance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, lookups, formula, etc.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively
