POSITION SUMMARY:
The Business Planning and Analysis (BP&A) team is responsible for capturing, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting financial and operational data in support of the Specialty Products (including NGLs, natural gas, power, and/or petroleum coke/sulfur) commercial organization. Primary responsibilities for this role center around driving R&M financial analytics of actual results as well as financial forecasting for commercial trade activity. These responsibilities are carried out in support of the annual Business Plan, monthly and quarterly reporting and forecasting, and other related initiatives. The Financial Analyst will regularly interface with senior leaders, managers, and staff as well as personnel in the BP&A and Controller organizations. This position will report to a BP&A Manager and be based in the San Antonio or Houston office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represent BP&A as part of a team supporting all Refining & Marketing (R&M) financial reporting initiatives.
- Serve as a single point of accountability for NGL and Nat Gas or petroleum coke/sulfur financial analysis & forecasting across all business cycles for specific R&M value chain(s).
- Coordinate and lead monthly actuals & forecast processes for NGLs/Natural Gas or petroleum coke/sulfur, including submission to Corporate BP&A with an insightful narrative behind key business drivers.
- Involved in compiling, analyzing, and reporting on a variety of Specialty Products performance metrics, including power, in addition to commodities listed above.
- Compile expense and revenue variance analysis and commentary for inclusion into Specialty Products monthly and quarterly performance packets for commercial leadership consumption.
- Monitor and maintain key data elements utilized for R&M transfer pricing.
- Support ad-hoc financial and operational analyses.
- Provide business continuity support for other BP&A team members.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required, major in Business, Accounting, Finance, Engineering or related discipline is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, Commercial or related field is required.
- Experience with analytical tools such as Power BI or Tableau is preferred.
- SAP and Right Angle experience preferred.
- Proficient with creating, communicating and/or presenting to senior leaders is preferred.
