Staff Accountant with an Atlanta-based real estate and development company.
Summary
Duties are diverse and include a mix of accounting, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, FP&A, and operations support.
Responsibilities
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare general ledger entries and document business transactions.
- Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position.
- Reconcile operating and escrow bank accounts, accounts payable, and related income accounts.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, prepaids, fixed assets, accrued receivables and accrued liabilities.
- Analyze intercompany receivables and payables and reconcile to general ledger.
- Process expense reimbursement and company credit card expense reports via expense reporting software, record related journal entries, and reconcile credit card accounts.
- Final review of corporate invoices for proper authorization and general ledger and/or cost coding.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting.
- 2+ years of construction accounting experience, including job costing, percentage of completion, work-in-progress, and over/under billings.
- Knowledge of US GAAP.
- Strong analytical and Excel skills.
