Position Summary: The Sr. Accountant is primarily responsible for the regular maintenance and ongoing integrity of the general ledger. This position assists with the close of the books monthly, overseeing the reconciliation of the general ledger accounts and assisting with financial statement reporting. The Sr. Accountant will also help in developing and overseeing internal controls for the team as well as assisting with and processing periodic sales tax payments and filings. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, friendly, and courteous and have exemplary organizational and time management skills and an ability to shift between tasks seamlessly.
Responsibilities include:
- Journal entry preparation related to month-end close
- Preparation and maintenance of account reconciliations monthly
- Assist with preparing, examining, or analyzing accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance with GAAP
- Drive continuous improvement focusing on streamlining and improving accounting processes and systems
- Work closely with AR and AP to ensure transactions are recorded accurately
- Cross-train among the accounting department and collaborate with other teams as needed
- Respond to inquiries from other teams
- Prepare documentation/improve upon documentation for various processes
- Oversee the capitalization of fixed assets and maintain the fixed assets register
- Assist in oversight of accounting treatment of Leases, Revenue Recognition, and other areas as assigned
- Assist in inventory accounting activities including standard cost setting, inventory management, related overhead absorptions, and coordination with warehouse operations on any inventory related items
- Responsible for researching, registering, and tax compliance
- Other projects as assigned by management

- BA or BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other business-related field required
- Minimum 2 years' accounting/business experience with proven success in a high-growth company
- Strong working knowledge and technical acumen with common accounting rules and principles

- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think and act quickly to provide timely resolution to issues
- Commitment to quality and accuracy
- Experience with integrated ERP systems - Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP system is a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software suite with advanced Excel skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Computer savvy with the ability to learn new systems quickly and troubleshoot issues and input/verify information in various software platforms

- Previous involvement in athletic programs a plus
