Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Responsible for reconciling and validating ceded premiums and losses for reinsurers and reinsurance brokers.
- Review reinsurer premium invoices and validate amounts due.
- Manages cash and research discrepancies.
- Resolves payment discrepancies with underwriters and reinsurers.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly premium and loss bordereaux.
- Effectively and efficiently track reinsurance loss billings.
- Manage overdue amounts and follow up with reinsurers and brokers.
- Process ceded payment.
- Apply cash receipts in reinsurance system as needed.
- Participate in Financial Audits and respond to all applicable audit requests timely and accurately.
- Work closely with other Reinsurance Accounting team members, and members of Finance, Underwriting and Claims departments.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 2+ years of experience.
- Property and casualty accounting background/knowledge preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effectively prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- Work both independently and as part of a team.
- Need strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required.
