Job Title: Staff Accountant - Accounts PayableLocation: Cleveland, OHBusiness Unit: Head ProtectionPurpose Of PositionWe are currently seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Accountant to support us in managing accounts payables and handling other accounting tasks as needed. The ideal candidate for this position should have exceptional organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles and procedures. Excellent analytical, reconciliation, and communication skills are also a must-have for this role. As an Accounts Payable Accountant, you will work closely with the FP&A Director and Controller.
Essential Duties And/or Functions- Process and register invoices for the Head Protection SBU segments (Irvine, CA and Salem, NH plants).
- Conduct monthly analysis of invoices and payment postings for the Head Protection SBU (Irvine, CA and Salem, NH plants).
- Process non-PO invoices (e.g. freight): registration, coding, and present for approval to appropriate stakeholders.
- Conduct 3-way matching to reconcile PO and GRIR reports to enhance accuracy and transparency.
- Resolve all payables-related issues with internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare payment proposals for approval by type (wire, ACH, cheque).
- Reconcile payment remittances vs invoices.
- Process UPS payments via their portal.
- Conduct accurate and timely entry of new suppliers, as well as updating current suppliers in SAP.
- Timely resolution of SAP system issues.
- Help prepare accurate month-end posting of utilities and people-related accruals.
- Provide month-end support to the controller with inventory accounting, variance analysis, and intercompany reconciliation.
- Maintain accurate historical records.
Required Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, as well as prior experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of general accounting and accounts payable procedures.
- Proficiency in data entry and management.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, Nectari, and the UPS Portal.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, information analysis, and organizational skills.
Preferred/Desired Skills Or Experiences- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
