Effective immediately a Systems Analyst I, II, or Senior (Real Time) in the OT Operations Department is open for placement. This one position could be filled at a Systems Analyst I, II, or Senior Systems Analyst level based on the applicant's education and experience, see the Qualifications section for additional requirements.
SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Manager, OT Operations, the Systems Analyst provides software support for various key business functions. The incumbent is accountable for the implementation, testing, reliability, and integration of computer software used to manage the Cooperative's business activities. The incumbent provides ongoing support of real-time software systems from third parties or developed internally. The Systems Analyst provides technical support for real-time SCADA systems used in monitoring and controlling generation, electric transmission, and electric distribution assets. The incumbent works directly with customers to obtain desired solutions. The incumbent maintains compliance with all applicable NERC CIP Cyber Security Standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administers relational and proprietary databases for new and existing generation, electric transmission, and electric distribution assets to support mission critical real-time systems.
- Helps maintain SCADA software to interface with remote intelligent devices.
- Helps manage continuous data exchanges with other industry entities via ICCP, SFTP, and other protocols.
- Helps maintain WFEC systems that interact with The SPP Integrated Marketplace.
- Maintains web servers with current web development tools.
- Evaluates, installs, tests, and documents all software changes.
- Responsible for helping secure all critical cyber assets to prevent malicious intrusions.
- Participates in cyber incident response exercises and disaster recovery tests.
- Participates in upgrade projects of critical software and hardware systems.
- Helps support Itron MV90, MVWEB, & MVPBS meter reading and billing software.
- Understands basic TCP/IP networking including routing, DNS, firewalls, etc.
- Shares 24-hour software technical support (on call) responsibilities, as well as emergency response requirements.
- Responsible for system administration tasks including log reviews, log tuning, group policies, security, and user management.
- Understands the electric grid operation and can communicate effectively with internal customers supporting its operation.
- Develops, installs, and tests software applications using software development tools.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education And Experience
- Systems Analyst I - ($68,050 - $103,362) - A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field and two (2) years of directly related experience are required. Information security and electric utility experience is desirable. Directly related experience may be substituted for education at the rate of two (2) years of experience for one (1) year of education.
- Systems Analyst II - ($84,152 - $130,521) - A Bachelor's degree in a computer or information systems related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience working with data acquisition and control systems/networks, preferably in a utility setting are required. Knowledge of SCADA systems, programming languages, networking, and real-time processing is preferred. Directly related experience may be substituted for education at the rate of two (2) years of experience for one (1) year of education.
- Senior Systems Analyst - ($92,816 - $145,479) - A Bachelor's degree in a computer or information systems related field and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience working with data acquisition and control systems/networks preferably in a utility setting are required. Knowledge of SCADA systems, programming languages, networking and real-time processing is preferred. Directly related experience may be substituted for education at the rate of two (2) years of experience for one (1) year of education.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical documents and procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees, managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and differential equations. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

WORK SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
This job normally works a daytime weekly schedule but may be required to work extended hours and travel on short notice as needed.
