BUSINESS PROCESS ANALYST

Our Client is looking to bring on Business Analyst's to perform a 3 month assessment on their internal billing platforms and processes. This candidate must have experience or knowledge of Salesforce, Zuora, and other contract, customer, and billing platforms. Our ideal candidate will understand process analysis, performing evaluations, and creating documentation in order to provide solutions post assessment phase.

Project Details
Assess and evaluate current platforms and processes related to the entire revenue cycle, from the top of the funnel (contracting) through billing and service management, with the goal of identifying issues and recommending solutions for optimization.
- Process Analysis: Map the entire revenue lifecycle, identifying where issues are introduced in the system. This will include systems that touch various stages of the process, from contract generation to billing execution.
- Platform Evaluation: Evaluate platform effectiveness, functionality gaps, and integration issues. Documentation on how billing models and processes can be adapted, optimized, or rearchitected with recommendations.
- Process Mapping: Understanding how billing, contracts, and services flow through the current system.
- Identification of Process Breakdowns: Pinpointing where and why issues occur, particularly in the integration of platforms and Salesforce or other platform native functionality.
- Challenges:
- Complexity in the service catalog, leading to varied billing models and issues.
- Non-recurring charges (NRCs) create further variability in billing processes.
- Integration issues between the CPQ and downstream billing systems.
- Current platform may handle some of the models, but a shift to a more consumption-based billing structure is being considered.
- Platform-Specific Concerns:
- Salesforce: Used for CPQ, contracts, and possibly integration with billing.
- Zuora: Primary billing engine for subscriptions and CPQ integration.
- Malbek: A source of potential issues related to process bottlenecks across the revenue lifecycle.
- ServiceCloud/ServiceNow: Used for customer service and operational management.
Must-Have Skills:
- Experience with internal assessments of customer billing platforms, tools, and process.
- Implementation of new billing platforms, tools, and processes.
- 3-5+ years of experience as a Business Process Analyst, preferably in revenue lifecycle management or related fields.
- Expertise in Salesforce configuration and management, particularly in areas related to sales and service processes.
- Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) tools, with a focus on optimizing contract workflows and approvals.
- Proficiency in Zuora for subscription billing, revenue recognition, and financial operations, with experience in driving efficiency in these areas.
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles, billing processes, and CLM systems.
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define solutions, and manage project deliverables.
- Excellent analytical skills, with a track record of improving business processes to enhance revenue and contract management efficiency.
- Proficiency in using data visualization and reporting tools to monitor business performance and recommend improvements.
- Strong understanding of API-based integrations and data migration between Salesforce, Malbek, Zuora, and other systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex processes to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have:
- Experience working in SaaS or subscription-based business models.
- Knowledge of Agile or Lean methodologies for process optimization.
- Familiarity with financial compliance regulations such as ASC 606.
- Salesforce certification, especially in Sales Cloud or Service Cloud.
- Experience with process automation tools and best practices for workflow management.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Analyze and optimize the revenue lifecycle management process, ensuring alignment with business goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, focusing on areas such as subscription billing, revenue recognition, and contract management.
- Leverage expertise in Salesforce, Malbek, and Zuora to design and implement streamlined workflows, ensuring seamless integration across platforms.
- Map current business processes and identify opportunities for improvement, automation, and scaling, with a focus on contract lifecycle management (CLM) and subscription billing operations.
- Design and implement solutions that improve the efficiency and accuracy of revenue recognition, billing processes, and contract management using Salesforce, ServiceNow, Malbek, and Zuora.
- Lead workshops and process review meetings with cross-functional teams, identifying pain points, and suggesting actionable improvements.
- Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including process flows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and user guides.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial and regulatory standards in revenue and billing management.
- Assist in data migration, integration, and testing efforts when transitioning or enhancing business systems.
- Monitor performance and KPIs to ensure that implemented processes meet organizational objectives and continue to deliver value.
