Manager of Accounting and Administration
This position participates as a member of the BCI Corporate Senior Leadership Team
Summary of Position Responsibilities:
Assume accountability for producing accurate financials on a timely basis as required. Be responsible for enforcing all generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Oversee all investments, benefit programs and administrative vendors, banking relationships, information and transactions. Assure that all financial information is reported in a timely manner to the President, Senior Leadership Team and approved outside recipients of confidential information. Manage the oversight and day-to-day activities of all auditing systems, banking, legal, outside accounting (taxes), investments, benefit companies and governmental agencies. Proactively manage all cash assets to assure the maximum return. Manage the project cost to complete process and ensure all billing paperwork is submitted on a timely basis. Participate as a member of the BCI Corporate Senior Leadership Team.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present monthly financial statements and related reports including but not limited to balance sheets, income statements, budgets, forecasts and variance analysis. Review reconciliations prepared by accounting staff and reconcile job reports to the general ledger. Work with division leaders on cost to complete job projections.
- Review weekly payroll processing ensuring accuracy of pay and deductions.
- Oversight of accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure accuracy in reporting and cash flow.
- Prepare yearly budget, working with CEO and division leaders on revenue and G&A projections.
- Work with Project Managers on correct job costing and preparing Cost to Complete reports.
- Protect assets of company through internal control, risk management, auditing and ensuring correct insurance coverage as well as managing insurance claims.
- Ensure compliance with statutory payroll and income tax reporting.
- Be able to articulate recommendations based on data developed to leaders and managers at all levels of the company.
- Create corporate initiatives that would mitigate financial challenges or create solutions for non-performing processes, departments or entities based on ongoing accounting and financial data developed.
Departmental Oversight Responsibilities:
- Accounting Department
- HR department including benefits management.
- General Administration
- Coordinate closely on all Accounting, HR and Admin policies and activities with the BCI Regional office in Omaha, NE
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent; Eight to ten years related experience.
- CPA License a plus but not required.
- Construction accounting experience a plus.
- Sage 300 experience a plus.
- Proficient knowledge of accounting, forecasting, budgeting, cost accounting, credit, and finance.
- Proficient in accounting software, Human Resource and payroll systems, project management software, and spreadsheets.
- Ability to work with all levels of office and field management.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow. Able to develop and provide data and input into the Leadership decision making process.
