TITLE: Associate Investment Banking
DUTIES: Scotia Capital (USA), Inc. seeks Associate Investment Banking in New York, NY to prepare client presentations and financial modelling. Responsibilities include:
- Mentor and supervise Analysts.
- Participate in live transactions and business development under the guidance of senior group members.
- Contribute to overall team success ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed/delivered in support of business strategies and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
- Champion a client-centric culture focused on deepening client relationships.
- Coordinate with various product groups and industry teams within GBM.
- Develop and maintain effective industry relationships with legal counsel, external parties, and clients.
- Evaluate and analyze the financial needs of corporate clients, including the development of financial models.
- Collect, consolidate, and interpret company and industry data.
- Perform comprehensive financial statement analysis and create and maintain models.
- Conduct financial and written analysis of companies and industries.
- Identify and develop business opportunities with clients.
- Prepare client presentations, including compiling data and assembling presentation materials.
- Support transaction structuring and execution efforts, with increasing levels of responsibility and accountability over time.
- Develop more junior bankers across CIB and GBM through active engagement on their technical, coverage, and leadership skills.
- Actively contribute to a high-performance and inclusive work environment.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Finance or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Skills include:
- Utilizing Microsoft Excel to create financial models for pitches and deals.
- Utilizing PowerPoint to create pitch materials and client materials.
- Utilizing finance and accounting to analyze businesses and valuation.
- Experience with the healthcare industry and life sciences to evaluate companies and analyze strategic moves in the sector.
10% travel required nationally. FINRA Series 79TO, Series 63, and SIE registration required. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies. When not telecommuting, must report to work site. In lieu of the Bachelor’s degree, the employer will accept a Master’s degree in the above stated fields. Offered salary is between $177,000 and $225,000 per year. 40 hours per week.
