Overview:
Serve as day-to-day and project focused resource to the Employee Relations (ER) team on issues / initiatives with enterprise-wide impact. Provide high-quality, forward-thinking ER analytical support through aggregation, assessment, and reporting of employee data. Coordinate with Human Resources (HR) centers of excellence (COEs), vendors and various lines of business to source relevant data that can be leveraged to address ER issues, identify trends, and areas of opportunity to improve the quality of ER consultations with line of business managers. Apply exceptional technical and analytical expertise to interpret HR data and communicate insights to the ER team / management and assist with evolving organizational matters in a timely manner, while adhering to appropriate regulatory requirements. Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform complex and judgement-based analytical work that aggregates data / information; analyzes ER matters; supports business decisions; and identifies organizational trends / emerging issues that drive recommendations to help maintain a productive work environment and minimize organizational risk. Professionally communicate findings and recommendations to management / ER team, as applicable.
- Lead the development and oversight of ER operational metrics to include Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Service Level Agreements (SLA) that measure the team’s productivity and performance to enable positive employee experiences.
- Support the ER team by leading, identifying, and tracking departmental projects; process improvement / automation initiatives; and business-as-usual operations to ensure that deliverables are implemented within established timeframes, including but not limited to, research, development, testing, documenting procedures, and on-going maintenance.
- Partner with ER team members to develop project plans, synthesize multiple data points, and communicate findings that informs strategic / consultative client discussions and uncovers / identifies underlying issues that can be used to effectively decision outcomes and mitigate organizational risk.
- Leverage critical thinking and expertise to partner with the HR Data and Analytics team to develop and maintain ER dashboards and other meaningful reporting.
- Ongoing and consistent production of enterprise-wide workforce restructure and workplace accommodation reporting, to include but not limited to consolidation reports, adverse impact analysis, expense / financial summaries, outplacement overviews, initiative timeline, etc.
- Participate in corporate accommodations and large-scale ER workforce restructure initiatives, as well as project-based solutions that focus on high-value consultation and enhancement of the ER delivery model, as requested by management.
- Understand and adhere to applicable compliance and operational risk controls, in accordance with established organizational / regulatory standards, practices and policies. Escalation to senior management when risk-related issues are identified, particularly those that have enterprise-wide impacts.

Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years’ higher education and / or work experience, including a minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience.
- Advanced knowledge and minimum 2 years of relevant experience with data visualization tools (Smartsheet, Power BI, Tableau, etc.) and Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, pivot tables, vlookup, etc.)

Preferred Experience
- Advanced Degree
- 4 Years of Human Resources experience – Employee Relations preferred

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $71,985.72 - $119,976.20 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
