What you will be doing as the Medical Billing Specialist:
- Expedite positive cash flow, maximize reimbursement, and reduce or eliminate financial loss to department customers by accurate efficient timely billing, follow-up and collections of patient accounts.
- Responsible for the timely rate follow-up on all patient account balances including insurance and patient financial
- Responsible for the processing of the specified number of accounts on a daily basis based on customer specialty and unique billing requirements.
- Responsible for knowing and understanding both Government and Non-government contractual billing and follow-up guidelines based on individual payers.
- Responsible for contacting Government, Non-government and self-payers regarding lack of payment of improper payment.
- Resolves all incorrect payment issues and ensures that balances after insurance payments are correct based on contracts with individual payers.
- Demonstrates quality customer service to both internal and external customers, by providing timely and accurate information, and works to ensure that problems are resolved.
What you will need as the Medical Billing Specialist:
- High School Degree
- Intermediate Excel skills required
- Medicare Billing experience required
- 1-2 years Customer Service/Collection
- 3+ years of physician, hospital, and/or hospice billing.
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Ability to follow up and problem solve.
