GNDC is seeking a Operations and Accounting Manager
The Greater North Dakota Chamber (GNDC) is the largest statewide business advocacy association in North Dakota and works to make our business climate the best in the nation. GNDC is hiring an Operations and Accounting Manager who will become part of our fun, dynamic, impactful team. The Operations and Accounting Manager is responsible for office operations and fiscal oversight while providing other support functions.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage all accounts payable and receivable activity, including maintaining accurate financial records and other necessary information for all GNDC accounts.
- Prepare month-end financial reconciliation, statements and reports.
- Assist with annual budget preparation and implementation.
- Prepare documentation for annual outside audit and assist outside professional service for income tax preparation.
- Make recommendations relating to financial record-keeping.
- Ensure GAP compliance with applicable financial reporting requirements.
- Provide reports to the Finance Committee and Board of Directors as needed.
Payroll
- Process payroll on a bi-weekly basis, along with all necessary payroll deductions and employee contributions.
- File appropriate state and federal employer/employee reports as required.
- Maintain records for hours worked and leave time for staff.
- Ensure staff handbook is kept up to date, and the policies are implemented.
- Track and maintain employee benefit information.
- Make employee retirement deposits and assist in filing annual tax documents.
- Ensure the filing system is orderly and that necessary documentation is available for staff members and as required by law.
Operational Management
- Manage overall projects and processes in the office and serve as the lead point of contact for a variety of contracts that support ongoing operations.
- Coordinate computer, software, network, phone systems purchasing and troubleshooting with the support of a third-party contractor.
- Assist with board meeting preparation, logistics, minutes, and follow-up.
- Cooperate with staff in maintaining the general function of the office.
- Manage the purchasing of office supplies.
Other
- Support GNDC events by assisting other staff as needed.
- Assist with membership support functions.
- Become proficient with GNDC’s association management software.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must possess Microsoft Office experience – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- Proficient with QuickBooks.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or similar) and four years of experience applicable to the responsibilities of the position.
- Generally 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday (though occasionally evening meetings and overnight travel may occur).
- Driver's License and reliable transportation to arrive at work.
- Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 35 pounds and infrequently lift and move up to 55 pounds.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check.
