Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to provide support to the VP of Corporate Accounting & Support Services with various monthly tasks. Specific responsibilities include recording monthly Journal Entries, reconciliation of Balance Sheet, analysis of the Financial Statements and strong understanding of GAAP. Must be able to work independently on Month End reporting tasks, reporting packages and external audit requests.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly, and annual financial statements
- Reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts, including Loans and Escrow accounts
- Manage and record all Corporate Credit Card charges
- Manage and record various payroll allocations from Corporate support staff
- Prepare and provide supporting documentation to investors and external auditors for financial statements
- Maintains Lender reporting packages and Quarterly documentation to Executive Team
- Some Cost Accounting experience may be necessary, to reconcile and maintain ongoing Construction projects
- Researches variance to budget and forecasts through detailed operational and financial metrics; explains results
- Reviews journal entries during month and year-end processes
- Tracks and analyzes key financial metrics and operational procedures to foster process improvements
- Assists with external audits
- Other duties as assigned
Educational Requirements And Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
- Five years’ experience preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting
- Understanding of SOX requirements
