A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SENIOR ACCOUNTANT:
Are you a seasoned accountant looking for a dynamic and challenging role in a private club? Piedmont Driving Club seeks a Senior Accountant to join our team and contribute to our financial success.
As a Senior Accountant, you will oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of our multi-property club. You will collaborate closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to develop and implement strategies that drive financial excellence.
WORK SCHEDULE:
This full-time position requires working Monday-Friday.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee daily cash transactions, including receipts, disbursements, and transfers. Reconcile cash balances to company postings, ensuring accuracy and identifying any discrepancies.
- Perform month-end closing, prepare journal entries, reconcile inter-club transactions, review account balances, and report in the company’s consolidation system.
- Reconciles monthly ledgers, including receivables, payables, bank and other asset accounts, and wage accounts.
- Interacts with the club’s external accounting firm and its auditors as necessary.
- Tracks all fringe benefits for compliance and annual reporting.
- Supervise and assist in closing activities performed by team members and provide accounting guidance on their daily accounting activities.
- Monitors the taking of inventories for beverages, food, supplies, equipment, furnishings, and other club assets.
- Calculates and files local and state sales taxes and personal property tax returns.
- Manage company purchasing cards for crucial club personnel.
- Serves as backup for weekly payroll, invoice, and check processing.
- Establishes and maintains tournament accounting records.
- Own complete closing process.
- Capability to learn new systems (Ticketing, Events, and others) and ensure that we can utilize the system and obtain relevant reporting efficiently.

REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or hospitality.
Proven Accounting Foundation: A solid understanding of the entire accounting cycle gained through 2-5 years of hands-on experience. Hospitality or Public accounting experience is a plus.
