Director of Lending
Role:
Responsible for the daily operation of the Consumer Loan and Mortgage Departments, which includes loan officers and the consumer loan department support staff and real estate staff. Responsible for monitoring the Direct and Indirect loan queues to ensure timely loan decisions that make floridacentral Credit Union easy-to-do business with. Monitors telephone and email traffic to ensure the delivery of quality member service to both internal and external members.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the timely delivery of loan decisions to both the branch network as well as the indirect dealer network. Ensures consumer lending support in a strong sales and service environment meeting or exceeding the department's loan goals.
· Ensures consumer loan goals are met or exceeded. Supports branch staff, sales team and the training department with branch loan process measurement and reporting.
· Manages direct reports to maximize productivity, efficiency, and the potential of the human assets of the credit union, including hiring, directing job assignments, monitoring staff performance, coaching, counseling, training, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, policies and work rules. Appraise performance and provide recommendations for staff compensation, promotion and termination, as appropriate.
· Tracks and reports statistical trends and recommends and implements ways to improve productivity and service levels. Makes loan program and rate recommendations.
· Prepares and manages the planning and accounting budget for the department. Prepares reports for management as required.
· Manages the daily operations of the Consumer Loan Department. Oversees scheduling, vacations and manages the department's calendar.
· Ensures that all internal control procedures are followed.
· Manages other projects and duties as assigned.
· All employees are made aware of their responsibilities under the BSA/CIP/OFAC regulations with continuing training, to ensure that they adhere to our internal policy and procedures. Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to: the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: Knowledge of various consumer loan and real estate policies and procedures in order to assist branch staff and members.
Education/Certifications/Licenses: Requires 02-29 CREDIT Insurance License Appointment, or Successful Applications, Issuance, and Appointment of 02-29 CREDIT License within 90 days of employment to be eligible for continued employment.
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to supervisor, monitor and evaluate the work of others.
Other Skills: Requires clear and professional communication in writing, in person and on the telephone.
