Job Description: The OU Health Family Medicine Center is a diverse outpatient facility servicing several different specialty clinics and providers. This is a fast-paced, collaborative environment that requires great communication skills, the ability to multitask, and welcomes a willingness to learn.
Location: Family Medicine Center
Shift Available: Full-Time, 8am-5pm (no evenings, holidays, or weekends)
OU Health’s Family Medicine Center has a fast-paced environment seeing patients from newborn to elderly. The healthcare professionals provide care within pediatric care, sports medicine, OB, procedural and much more. This facility is fast-paced with 80 providers seeking healthcare professionals eager to work with a variety of patients!
General Description: Under general supervision provides preventative and health care to an assigned group of patients or clients in an OU Health facility.
Essential Responsibilities:

- Administers medications safely under direction of physician or other medical personnel.
- Observes, records, and reports patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
- Provides care according to an established nursing plan.
- Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
- Ensures patient chart entries are made accurately and in a timely manner and forwarding charts as appropriate.
- Communicates systematic report to other care providers.
- Assists in the coordination of care delivery; utilizes resources to promote the continuum of care.
- Employs strategies to promote health in a safe environment.
- Documents progress toward the attainment of outcomes.
- Uses quality and evidence-based practice to deliver and improve care.
- Works closely with more experienced clinicians for guidance and supervision.
- Triage telephone calls for referral to other clinical team members.
General Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduation from an approved License Practical Nurse program.
Experience: None.
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Current LPN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact LPN License (eNLC) required. Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Ability to organize, coordinate, plan and evaluate nursing needs of assigned patients.
- Must be knowledgeable about operating room techniques if applying for a surgery position.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
