Senior Financial Accountant at PureTech Scientific
PureTech Scientific is a leading producer of nature-identical glycolic acid, a readily biodegradable ingredient used in various industries, including medical devices, personal care products, clean & disinfect, oil & gas, and electronics.
Your Role:
As our Senior Financial Accountant, you'll be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, with a particular focus on accounts receivable and plant accounting. You'll ensure the accuracy of our financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and continuously seek ways to enhance our accounting processes. Your expertise in GAAP and your sharp analytical skills will be essential in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare internal financial statements and reports accurately and timely.
- Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
- Oversee and manage all aspects of accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, payments, and collections.
- Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to accounts receivable, maintaining accuracy and integrity.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of payments, collaborating with relevant departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Implement and maintain accounting policies and internal control systems to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations and accounting standards, staying updated with trends and best practices.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain relationships with vendors and customers to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Assist with budget preparation and cash flow management, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Oversee plant accounting functions, including cost accounting, and production reporting.
- Ensure accurate recording and reporting of manufacturing costs and variances.
- Collaborate with plant management to provide financial insights and support for operational decision-making.
- Monitor and analyze plant performance metrics, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Drive continuous process improvement within the accounting department to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Train and develop accounting staff to enhance their skills and performance.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support.
- Participate in special projects and other assignments, contributing to the overall success of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA certification preferred, but not required.
- Minimum 3-7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with SAP S4 Hana or a similar ERP platform in a manufacturing setting.
- Mastery of MS Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, problem-solving ability, and passion for continuous improvement.
