Opening Doors began in 1993 as a small refugee resettlement agency, and today serves 2,000 clients per year across our 5 program areas: Refugee Programs, Survivors of Trafficking Programs, Immigration Legal Services, Health Programs and Economic Prosperity Programs.
Ideal candidate: The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, detail and solution-oriented, and be proficient at managing multiple timelines and coordinating with multiple departments.
They will have the ability to work effectively in multi-cultural work environments, showing respect and sensitivity for cultural differences, and will be passionate about Opening Doors’ mission.
Responsibilities: The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:
·Maintain electronic and hard copy filing systems.
·Assist in the daily management of accounts payable e-mail.
·Assist with check requests and ensure appropriate documentation is received prior to processing.
·Processing of accounts payable invoices.
·Communicate with appropriate staff regarding regular timelines and collection of documents for monthly invoices, credit card reconciliations, and expense reports.
·Prepare check logs, Positive Pay uploads, and coordinate checks for signature.
·Posting of payroll allocation entries.
·Assist with monthly reimbursement claims and program expense reports.
·Assist with back up documentation for monthly billings, monitoring, and audits.
·Process electronic deposits.

·Demonstrated ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
·Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various internal sources.
·Computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, and a willingness to learn other programs used by the organization.
·Minimum 2 years prior demonstrated experience with accrual basis accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and/or account reconciling.
·
·Possession of a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
Preferred Qualifications: The requirements listed below are not required but are desired.
·Experience using QuickBooks desktop software.
·Demonstrated experience coding to multiple cost centers.
·Knowledge and experience with GAAP, non-profit and/or governmental accounting.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
