Job Summary
On an ongoing basis, the analyst will provide direct support to the Accounting Manager, assisting in the accounting close functions, including development and analysis of financial reports and projects that explain deviations from planned results. It will also involve various projects that require the ability to liaise and partner with the Company’s executive leadership team and its senior departmental leaders especially during the annual Budgeting process. This position collaborates cross-functionally across all business areas and serves as a partner on all financially pertinent analytics, planning, and reporting activities in support of making appropriate business decisions. Additional responsibilities of this position include strengthening accuracy and forecasting, streamlining decision-making capabilities and driving improvements to current processes to help overall organizational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monthly close activities including project cost allocations, gross margin verification, and other critical close activities.
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
- Construction of monthly Variance Analysis reports on revenue achievement, cost of sales, departmental expenses and capital expenditures, comparing Actual Results versus Budget, providing sufficient explanations for the deviations
- Prepare detailed customer project analysis reports including analysis of profitability, revenue and associated costs on a month and year-to-date basis.
- Perform actual to budget postmortems at the conclusion of each project
- Manage all fixed assets including the creation, execution and disposal of all assets as needed
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of the annual budget, working with departmental heads and other Company leadership in the construction of departmental expense and capital budgets
- Construction of the corporate cash flow forecast.
- Ensure reported results are accurate and in compliance with GAAP
- Assist Accounting Manager and Corporate Controller in various special projects as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or applicable field of study
- Minimum 3 years of work experience with financial, business, and strategic planning.
- Strong knowledge, understanding and application of basic accounting practices and GAAP
- CPA and/or public accounting experience is a plus
- Good communication skills
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and experience with other Microsoft office applications is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity
- Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation
- Experience with SAP Business One is a plus
