Job Description
The Treasury Analyst II - Tax position (Tax Analyst) is an integral component of the Treasury Department and will interface with staff and leadership across the organization. The Tax Analyst is responsible for preparing both for-profit and non-profit tax filings (990, 1120, 1065, etc.) for all entities of organizations, ensuring that all documents are filed timely and accurately (50%); communicate effectively with state and federal taxing agencies (15%); conduct research on tax theory and positions relating to and/or impacting the organization’s entities and effectively communicate the conclusions (25%); and other treasury related tasks assignments (10%).
Requirements and Responsibilities of Role:
- Prepare and file federal, state, and municipal returns, extensions, and estimated payments.
- Prepare tax provision schedules by reviewing, preparing, and consolidating provision schedules.
- Interface with external tax advisor/auditor.
- Respond to information requests from necessary departments and/or other entities in a timely and professional manner.
- Research tax theory and positions, and apply them to the organization’s needs.
- Recommend tax strategies by researching federal, state, and local taxation issues in a proactive fashion.
- Obtain information necessary to perform accurate research, develop recommendations, and assist with follow-up or implementations as needed.
- Assist all organizational entities in responding promptly to notices received from any federal, state, or local agency.
- Participate in educational opportunities; remain current on professional publications; maintain professional networks/participate in professional organizations.
- Support the organization’s mission by completing related results as needed.
- Ensure privacy and confidentiality of information in every step of the process.

Qualifications
Does this describe you?
- 3+ years relevant work experience required.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- CPA or MBA preferred.
- Experience working with tax software packages (CCH and/or BNA tax Research, GoSystems, etc.).
- A professional that has state, local, and federal tax experience in a nonprofit setting would be ideal. However, we will look at candidates that have had just state and local tax experience and will entertain non-profit and for-profit experience from all types of organizations.
