Klassic Recruiting & XL Parts are seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to join the team in the Houston corporate office. XL Parts is the fastest growing Direct-to-the-Installer parts supplier in the Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth and Oklahoma City areas. We carry 120,000 different part numbers covering 175 product lines from dozens of manufacturers.
Under general direction of the CFO, the AP Manager is responsible for all areas relating to accounts payable. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounts payable principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Accounts Payable Manager should be able to work with tight deadlines and will have been in a multi-faceted accounting position for a growing organization. In this role, the person will be expected to manage a team of individuals that are responsible for developing and maintaining a customer-focused, high performing Accounts Payable work team that provides a consistent level of service. The ideal candidate must have the ability to manage the Accounts Payable operation: ensuring timely, accurate payments to suppliers, expense reimbursements to our employees, as well as other critical reporting requirements. Additional responsibilities include management and development of continuous improvement of work processes.
Job Description
- Responsible for timely processing of accounts payable invoices
- Review and establish departmental processes and procedures
- Ensure payments are made timely and cash discounts are taken as appropriate
- Ensure adequate controls of invoice authorizations for payments
- Review accounts payable activity and make correcting journal entries as necessary
- Manage accounts payable clerks
- Assist and provide support to users companywide
- Establish written procedures on receiving discrepancies and steps to review compliance
- Divide work among clerks to facilitate workflow and ensure proper cross training
- Provide support and assistance for annual audit
- Heavy interaction with all levels of employees including senior management. Works directly with Controller on special projects and workflow process improvements.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / AP
- Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience
- Must be able to work well in a group environment
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication
- Must have strong customer service skills
- Strong understanding of accounting theory
- Highly detail oriented and organized in work
- Ability to meet assigned deadlines
Physical Demands:
Able to carry lift up to 50 lbs.

The Accounts Payable Manager compensation is based on a yearly Salary plus discretionary bonus.
