Job Summary
Builders Wholesale Flooring is currently seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our team! The Staff Accountant position is responsible for assisting the finance department in creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization. This position reports to the Division Controller and CFO.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Comfortable using Excel and learning new Excel functions to efficiently work with large data files, analyzing data, including verifying and importing/exporting data.
- Prepare accounting related entries to registers, journals, and logs.
- Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts including bank accounts.
- Assist with Month-End Close.
- Month-End journal entries.
- Monthly filing of sales/use tax with various states.
- Provide detailed analyses and answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data and individual transactions.
- Prepare documentation for external auditors.
- Assist the Controller and CFO in preparing accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports, to assess accuracy, completeness, and conform to standards defined within the department.
- Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures, recommending changes.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Other financial projects as delegated by the Controller or CFO.
- Learn and follow our company’s established accounting processes.
Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in accounting required.
- Experience with GL Accounting.
- Excel certifications are a plus.
- Computer skills and Excel knowledge required.
- Excellent organizational skills and time management.
- Financial management knowledge.
- Must have good communication skills.
- Upholds ethical conduct.
