The Senior Financial Accountant is a critical key position within the Group’s finance team. The primary responsibility of this position is to perform and provide comprehensive accounting, finance and reporting functions, supporting the Group’s operational accounting and finance. The role will include general ledger accounting, financial analysis, technical accounting, audit readiness, as well as supporting month/quarter/year-end financial close process. The role also includes assistance with cash management, new ERP implementation, as well as the opportunity to make significant contributions in processes improvement.
Primary Role Accountabilities
The Senior Financial Accountant will:
- Lead and Support Project accounting. Review and track monthly revenue recognition and related margins at project level.
- Assist with the reconciliation of physical inventory to General Ledger Balances to resolve variances.
- Lead and Supervise Accounts Payable function.
- Be actively involved in the month/quarter/year-end close process, including preparation of consolidated financial statements.
- Manage GL and maintain monthly balance sheet schedules.
- Support and liaise with external auditors on a timely basis.
- Adhere to US GAAP financial accounting standards and guidelines.
- Support the business in ERP implementation and management through effective use of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, and cost reduction opportunities.
- Assist in the design and implementation of controls, processes, and policies for the Group.
- Interface regularly and directly with various teams across the globe, with multiple time zones.
- Research, prepare complex technical accounting memos, and propose accounting treatment as it relates to Leases (ASC 842), Internal-Use Software (ASC 350), Stock-based compensation (ASC 718), Revenue Recognition (ASC 606) and any other technical accounting transactions.
- Prioritize multiple projects and deadlines at the same time.
- Perform other duties as required by the manager of the role.
Essential Work Experience, Qualifications, and Skills
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a strong accounting and finance background, preferably 5 to 6 years of mixed industry background, including public accounting experience (Big 4).
- Holds a degree in finance or accounting and is CPA qualified (or pursuing CPA qualification), with in-depth knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
- Has extensive knowledge and experience in architecting global financial systems and processes in a technology startup environment, involving both software and hardware.
- Has excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively present to and engage with a wide range of audiences, including the Big 4 accounting and tax firms.
- Can multitask, prioritize, and manage their time effectively and independently.
- Can lead and manage AP resources.
- Is ready to take on increasing responsibility over time and grow quickly.
- Has intermediate to advanced keyboard skills (Microsoft Word and Excel).
Desirable Work Experience, Qualifications, and Skills
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP solutions.
- Knowledge and/or experience using SQL, Microsoft Power BI.
- Fast and accurate data entry skills.
Salary range: $90-110k
