Description
Kelvin Group is adding an Estimator to our national team! The Estimator will support the company’s Sales teams to ensure the successful bidding of all new projects. The Estimator will assist the Sales Engineers in collecting data and analyzing all project costs, including materials, labor, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops cost estimates for projects based on work scope, specifications, and contract proposals using applicable estimating methodologies and tools.
- Analyzes project requirements, plans, and specifications to identify material, labor, and equipment requirements.
- Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Identifies labor, materials, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
- Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data.
- Obtains bids from subcontractors.
- Performs scope development with subcontractors.
- Reads and interprets technical documents.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of field experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of subcontractors and MEP experience.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates of large projects.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional time management skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam required.
- Experience with Procure and AutoCAD preferred.
- Limited travel required.
