HIRING AN ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST IN HOUSTON
QUALIFICATIONS: Accounting degree preferred but not required and a minimum of 3-5 years of collection experience; preferably in a professional service industry. The Accounting Specialist shall possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be detail-oriented, a team player, have a willingness to learn, be stress tolerant, have a sense of urgency, be tenacious, possess customer service skills, be efficient, organized, and work well under pressure. Proficiency in MS Office Products and Deltek Software is a plus, along with the capacity to learn a variety of other software.
MISSION: Provide excellent customer service to other employees and DBR clients consistently in a fast-paced environment.
AUTHORITY: The Accounting Specialist interacts with all employees and functions under the direction of the CFO.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Client Invoicing: Contact clients to ensure correct invoice formatting and procedures.
- Full Cycle AR: Communicate with clients and employees via telephone or email to collect payment from customers and accurately record it into the system, including, but not limited to:
- Follow up on, collect, and allocate payments.
- Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Update and maintain client accounts based on payment or contact information.
- Carry out collection and reporting activities according to specific deadlines and follow established policies and procedures for collections.
- Employee Expense Reports: Maintain W-9’s.
- Perform general office and administrative functions.
- Perform special duties/projects as assigned.
