Job Description
Bremer Insurance is seeking an Ag Advisor to grow and maintain a book of ag-related business by developing, marketing, and selling new and renewal business in accordance with applicable state insurance regulations for current and future product lines. This role involves providing comprehensive insurance solutions to agricultural clients, focusing on property and casualty (P&C) insurance, as well as crop insurance. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the agricultural industry, excellent sales skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the agricultural sector
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring their insurance needs are met
- Conduct needs assessments and risk evaluations for prospective and current clients
- Assist clients in understanding their insurance policies and coverage options
- Regularly review and update clients' insurance portfolios to reflect changes in their operations and risk exposure
- Promote and sell a range of insurance products, including but not limited to agricultural property & casualty and crop insurance
- Develop customized insurance plans tailored to the specific needs of each agricultural client
- Meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to the overall growth of the agency
- Ensure all insurance policies and transactions comply with state and federal regulations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions in CRM
- Stay informed about industry trends, changes in agricultural practices, and relevant legislation
- Analyze market conditions to identify potential risks and opportunities within the agricultural insurance sector
- Develop and implement sales strategies to capitalize on market opportunities and meet client needs
Qualifications and Key Competencies
- A combination of education and experience which is generally attained with 4 years of business development/sales experience, with preference to ag insurance experience, or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business, Finance, or a related field
- Business development and sales experience is required
- Candidates should be licensed, or have the ability to become licensed, to sell crop insurance products and agricultural property and casualty
- Strong understanding of agricultural practices and risks
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships
- Self-motivated, with a strong drive to meet and exceed sales targets
- Proficiency with insurance management software and CRM systems
- Ability to travel to meet with prospects and customers with reliable transportation
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with industry changes
Pay Range
Pay Type: Exempt/Salaried
The Insurance Advisor position at Bremer is a commissioned sales position with a book of business which provides a monthly non-forgivable draw against commissions and the opportunity to earn commission on new and renewal business.
