Position Summary
The individual in this position is primarily responsible for preparation and review of income tax returns (1040, 1041, 1065 and 1120S) with an introduction to transfer tax returns (706 and 709). Additionally, a successful candidate should be interested in developing into a multi-disciplinary professional who is passionate about learning all aspects of wealth management. This individual will join a dynamic team that thrives to provide the highest quality of holistic wealth services to our clients. May lead and direct the work of others. Relies on experience and judgment to accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This individual will work on the High Net Worth focus area team.
FLSA Status: Exempt
Required Experience and Education
Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or bachelor’s degree with the 150-hour requirement to sit for the CPA exam. Licensed CPA or actively working toward CPA certification. 3-5 years in relevant position or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Advise clients on tax services, compliance, retirement planning and wealth transfer
- Prepare tax returns and conduct tax research to develop strategies and planning opportunities for clients
- Review mid-level complexity individual, trust, partnership and corporate tax returns
- Tax planning and client consulting
- Maintain accurate time and expense records to ensure proper billing of clients
- Comply with relevant continuing professional education requirements of the AICPA, State Board of Accountancy, and the firm
- Enhance the firm image by demonstrating “executive presence”
- Work closely with principals, managers, and staff to integrate practice development skills into a team approach to client service and new business development
- Maintain strong client service relationships and cross-sell services as appropriate
- Demonstrate knowledge of all technical aspects of the job, including related knowledge of necessary systems and procedures
- Demonstrate technical knowledge effectively through written and verbal communication; seek to continuously develop communication skills
- Increasingly build knowledge base on the firm’s industry lines and service offerings
- Promote the ideas, values, mission, and vision of the firm and support the one-firm concept
- Proactively seek knowledge, new tasks, and responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Desired Skills, Abilities and Characteristics
- Individual, partnership, S corporation and trust return experience; familiarity with or experience with gift and estate a plus
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of firm and client information

Working Conditions
