About Global Financial Crimes
In Global Financial Crimes (GFC), you will play a critical role in identifying potentially suspicious activity, protecting vulnerable individuals, and safeguarding the integrity of the financial system. GFC coordinates day-to-day implementation of the Firm's financial crime prevention efforts, including governance, oversight, and execution of the Firm's Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions, Anti-Corruption and Government and Political Activities Compliance programs.

Your Key Responsibilities
As a US Investigations Team Lead, you will:
- Supervise, mentor, and coach a team of Investigations professionals on regulatory filings, suspicious activity investigations, trade and transaction analysis/research, screening, and enhanced due diligence
- Ensure that daily operational processing is completed according to established program SLAs and regulatory requirements
- Perform detailed research and analysis of customer activity, and document findings in comprehensive memos for senior management
- Review and file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs)
- Develop and lead quality control reviews of staff work products, records, and daily metrics
- Develop and deliver training programs for Investigations team members and various business units
- Draft policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations
- Assist with the integration of the E*TRADE financial crime program to the Morgan Stanley financial crime program
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness
- Proactively manage risks to the GFC program by recognizing significant risks in processes and technology, develop solutions and escalate significant issues to management
- Attend trainings to remain current with AML-related statutes and regulations (Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, etc.)
- Work on other special projects as needed
What We're Looking for in You
- 4-year college degree with strong academic credentials
- 5 to 8 years of experience with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti-Money Laundering Regulations within the financial services industry, or at a financial services regulator (e.g., Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Federal Reserve Bank, Securities and Exchange Commission, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation) and strong analytical skills
- Experience managing a staff of Compliance professionals
- Strong understanding of the financial markets and banking, including broker-dealer product-based knowledge, and the ability to research or must evidence the ability to learn and adapt quickly
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, attention to detail and strong time management skills
- Excellent judgment, initiative and adherence to deadlines
- Developed investigative skills - inquiry and analysis, interviewing, testing, organization and presentation (both written and verbal)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with branch and business unit personnel in a mature and professional manner and apply feedback on work product from supervisor(s)
- Certification as an Anti-Money Laundering Specialist by ACAMS or equivalent AML certification/license - or certification within first 15 months of employment
Where You'll be Working
This role will require in office attendance 3 days/week. Two of those days will be Anchor Days where you will be in the office with your teammates to learn, grow, and collaborate in person.
The Baltimore office is the Firm's largest U.S. office outside of New York, with approximately 2,000 employees representing most of the Firm's Divisions.

Expected base pay rates for the role in Baltimore will be between $112000 and $177000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
Expected base pay rates for the role in New York will be between 85000 and 190000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
