We are currently looking for an Accounting Analyst - Financial Systems in our Houston, TX or Owensboro, KY office.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing complex accounting tasks and providing analytical insight to support the company’s accounting systems that adhere to SOX compliance and support the company’s changing business needs.
Job responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating the month end and quarter end close process in Oracle EBS (E-Business Suite), FCC (Financial Consolidation and Close), and/or ARC (Account Reconciliation Cloud), for the GAAP and FERC ledgers.
- Creating and maintaining intercompany relationships, defining legal entities, and other general ledgers setups necessary as the business grows and evolves.
- Creating and maintaining elimination sets and mass allocations to allow consolidating financials to be generated in EBS. Creating and maintaining cross validation and security rules to encourage data integrity and minimize coding corrections necessary in EBS.
- Assisting in developing and maintaining reports used for external GAAP and FERC requirements and internal reporting needs.
- Assisting in data loads and tie outs from EBS (E-Business Suite) to FCC (Financial Consolidation and Close) for the GAAP (actuals, budget, and forecast) and FERC ledgers.
- Assisting with the design and configurations necessary for acquisitions, mergers, and/or new company setups.
- Performing daily and monthly process checks in the ledgers to identify errors timely and assure system setups are working appropriately.
- Performing unit testing and regression testing within EBS and FCC, as necessary, to validate system updates are working correctly and other system functionality is not adversely impacted. Providing necessary SOX documentation for testing.
- Assisting in the continuing effort to identify process and reporting efficiencies while adhering to proper internal controls.
- Assisting with the ongoing training of new employees and existing users for general ledger functionality in EBS, reporting functionality in FCC, and reconciliation process in ARC.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
- 5-10 years Accounting experience
- Oracle E-Business Suite or other ERP financial system experience (primarily general ledger)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and with cross-functional teams
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Energy industry experience
- Financial Consolidation and Close and/or Smartview experience
- Advanced Excel experience
- Power BI or other BI tools
