The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Operations Services Division, Internal Controls and Compliance Bureau in Helena.
The Internal Controls and Compliance Bureau focuses on providing management with independent, objective assurance, and consulting services designed to add value and improve the effectiveness of the department operations and internal controls. The bureau is responsible for providing audits and audit related services to various Divisions of the Department of Public Health and Human Services. These involve a wide range of expertise and complexity, such as but not limited to, internal audits of DPHHS financial and operational work processes; agreed upon and attestation procedures engagements; audits of compliance with contractual and departmental procedures; review and examination of internal controls; departmental inventory counts; review and testing of audit findings and questioned costs determined by State or Federal Audit Agencies; desk reviews of financial and A-133 audit reports prepared by private auditors.

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity
- Ability to interview agency staff
- Ability to test controls and account balances
- Knowledge of how to use analytics to evaluate transactions
- Understanding of how to test compliance with federal regulations and state laws
- Excellent analysis and data reporting skills
- High level interpersonal skills
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
- Two years of directly related experience
- Proven work experience as an auditor preferred

Additional Information
This position may be eligible for partial telework within the state of Montana. Specific conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state policy.

$33.08 - $33.08 Hourly
