The Opportunity:
The Business Analyst analyzes our needs of their clients and stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities, while recommending solutions and programs that allow the organization to achieve its strategic goals. You will be the liaison between the business side of the enterprise and service providers to the enterprise or technology department, eliciting, analyzing, communicating and validating requirements in the context of helping us achieve our goals. You will report directly to the AVP of Corporate Services Technology.
The Day-to-Day:
- Collaborate with senior managers, project managers and project sponsors to determine project scope and vision. Projects will typically be far-reaching, multi-million dollar efforts involving replacement of primary business systems and affecting multiple departments.
- Provide guidance to team members on creating effective and efficient approaches and solutions to achieve project goals.
- Conduct interviews and analysis to define business, financial, operational, and technical requirements and systems goals and to gather user requirements through workshops, questionnaires, surveys, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.
- Make decisions related to assessing appropriate course of action, identifying those issues that need to be escalated to senior management.
- Communicate business changes, enhancements, and modifications – verbally or through written documentation – to senior management, peers, staff, and other employees so that issues and solutions are fully understood.
- Contribute to enterprise architecture development from a needs point of view.
- Create business models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programmers.
- Translate conceptual user requirements into functional, and sometimes technical, requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team.
- Research software and hardware products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
- Produce high-quality documentation.
- Assist the business in the development of training material, and conduct training classes.
Your Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience as a Technical Business Analyst.
- Familiarity with Agile and Jira.
- Familiarity with writing and promoting accurate documentation in Confluence.
- Basic SQL querying skills.
- Superior ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to work independently and determine priorities based on changing business needs.
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education/experience.
Compensation:
- $85,000 - $110,000 base salary per year in the state of WA - New hires should expect to start at the lower end of the range depending on experience.
- Eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
