JOB SUMMARY:
Increase profit goals through the expansion of lending relationships and extension of credit to assigned existing accounts according to established procedures. Develop market base of customers based on relationship building, and service existing customers by marketing expanded bank services. Expand lending relationships resulting in extension of credit to new and existing customers. Provide some loan servicing on existing accounts according to procedures. Provide opportunities for relationship building by involving oneself in civic and community organizations and state agriculture related organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Attends to the needs of present and potential customers seeking loans.
- Interviews applicants to determine whether a loan may be an acceptable risk within the bank’s policy.
- Makes recommendations and decisions on loans and terms if within own lending limits, or recommends loans to a higher authority.
- Maintains relationships on current assigned customers and prospective customers.
- Establishes and updates electronic customer credit files to include balance sheets, tax returns, cash flows, etc.
- Develops credit analysis skills to include analyzing financial statements, cash flows and cash budgets and make sound credit recommendations using these tools.
- Develops and maintains an effective extensive professional network with potential customers. Actively participates in development and execution of the local marketing strategies and plan.
- Maintains a loan portfolio that satisfies quality standards and qualifications established by senior bank management.
- Develop and maintain a significant presence throughout the agriculture and/or business community. Participates in civic, community, state and professional groups to further personal and corporate goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree required with emphasis in business, finance, accounting preferred.
- One to two years credit analysis training preferred.
- Effective oral and written communication skills (including telephone).
- Use and understand various computer software related to carrying out essential responsibilities of the position.
- General areas of competency: decision making, dependability, development, environmental safety, evaluation skills, interpersonal skills, prioritizing, problem solving, selling skills, team skills and time management.
- Demonstrated record of achievement in social and/or extracurricular and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated aptitude to handle sensitive operational transactions and customer relationships.
- Professional appearance.
- Self-sufficient/self-starting.
- Must be capable of working with and maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Ability to travel to meet customers’ needs and for training purposes.
Physical Requirements:
Light Work - exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Reaching, fingering, grasping, repetitive motions, stooping, crouching, standing, walking, lifting, climbing, kneeling, talking, hearing, pulling, pushing, thinking, concentrating and interacting with others.
