Scientifica Venture Capital is an investment holding company that selects projects and high-tech startups. We invest in sectors such as advanced manufacturing, advanced materials, artificial intelligence and quantum technologies, in pre-seed, seed, and early-stage phases.
We only select projects that have the potential to become successful companies and, at the same time, are capable of generating a positive impact on the social context with their product or service. We finance research and provide start-ups with the laboratories and equipment necessary to achieve industrial validation and complete the technology transfer process.
By providing this dual support—financial support and access to laboratories—we enable start-ups to develop high levels of knowledge and incorporate them into products and/or services in the form of technological innovation, thereby increasing their level of competitiveness in terms of business.
Duties and Responsibilities:
We are looking for a resource to be included in the Investment area who will be responsible for the management of the start-ups in the portfolio, with the following responsibilities:
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor and evaluate the financial and operational performance of the start-ups in the portfolio
- Prepare detailed reports on the performance and progress of the start-ups in the portfolio
Strategic Support:
- Provide strategic advice to the start-ups in the portfolio on growth, scalability, market strategies, product development and resource management
- Participate in the boards of directors of the start-ups in the portfolio, guiding strategic and operational decisions
- Offer mentorship and managerial support to the founders and executive teams
Networking and Relations:
- Facilitate the creation of partnerships between the start-ups in the portfolio and other companies, investors, customers and suppliers
- Develop and maintain a network of contacts that can help the start-ups in the portfolio to grow and develop
- Support the start-ups in the portfolio in the raising of further rounds of financing, putting them in contact with other investors
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Economics, Finance or similar disciplines
- At least 5 years of previous experience in a similar role, preferably in venture capital or private equity firms
- Excellent knowledge of the English language
- Reliability and ability to responsibly manage deadlines and workloads, with a good degree of initiative and autonomy
- Excellent soft skills: proactivity and lateral thinking are essential in our team
- Strong interpersonal skills, predisposition to teamwork and precision complete the profile
